Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of SewResume (the "Service"), operated by Samuel Kariuki ("we", "us", "our"), based in Nairobi, Kenya. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What we provide

SewResume lets you scan a resume against a job description to see a match score and gaps (the "Free Scan"), and lets you purchase AI-assisted, tailored resume and cover-letter documents (the "Paid Services"). Outputs are generated with the help of automated and AI tools.

2. Payments and Merchant of Record

Our order process and payments for Paid Services are handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com. When you buy, Paddle (or its affiliates) is the seller of record for that transaction and is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable taxes. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms presented at checkout. Prices are shown before purchase and may change at any time for future orders.

3. Nature of the product

Paid Services are personalized digital goods delivered electronically, usually within minutes. They are not physical goods and involve no shipping. Please review our Refund Policy before purchasing.

4. No guarantee of results — not professional advice

SewResume produces AI-assisted drafts to help you present your experience. We do not guarantee that using our documents will result in an interview, a job offer, or any particular outcome. Outputs are provided for your review and editing, are offered "as is", and are not legal, financial, immigration, or professional career advice. You are responsible for checking every document for accuracy before you use or submit it.

5. Your content and acceptable use

You keep ownership of the resume text, job descriptions, and other material you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting it, you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service to you. You agree that:

You have the right to submit Your Content and it does not infringe anyone's rights;
The information you provide about yourself is truthful;
You will not use the Service for anything unlawful, or to submit another person's personal data without their permission;
You will not attempt to disrupt, abuse, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service.

6. Rights to the output

Once your order is paid and delivered, you may use the generated documents for your own personal job-seeking purposes. Our name, brand, website, and underlying software remain our property and may not be copied or resold.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for that purchase.

8. Changes and termination

We may update, suspend, or discontinue the Service or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. We may suspend access for breach of these Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have in your country of residence. Transaction-level terms for purchases are governed as set out by Paddle at checkout.
