This policy explains what personal data SewResume ("we", "us"), operated by Samuel Kariuki in Nairobi, Kenya, collects and how we use it. We aim to collect as little as possible.

1. What we collect

Text you paste — the resume and job-description content you enter to run a scan or order a tailored document.
Contact details — the email address you provide so we can deliver paid orders and respond to support requests.
Payment information — handled entirely by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. We never see or store your full card details; we receive only limited order information (such as your email and what you bought).
Basic technical data — standard server and analytics logs (e.g. approximate location, device/browser type) used to keep the Service secure and working.

2. How we use it

To generate your match score and tailored documents;
To deliver your purchase and provide customer support;
To operate, secure, and improve the Service;
To meet legal and tax obligations (largely handled by Paddle).

3. AI processing of your text

To produce results, the text you submit is processed by automated systems and may be sent to third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf. Please do not include information you would not want processed this way — such as national ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health information. A resume does not need these.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run SewResume, under confidentiality obligations, including:

Paddle — payment processing and tax (Merchant of Record);
AI and hosting/infrastructure providers — to generate results and serve the website;
Authorities — only where required by law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep the text you submit only as long as needed to provide your result and support, and then delete or anonymise it. Order and contact records are kept as long as needed for support, accounting, and legal reasons.

6. International transfers

We operate from Kenya and our providers may process data in other countries, including the US and EU. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR in the EU/UK and the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or object to certain processing. To make a request, email support@sewresume.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Cookies

We use only the cookies and similar technologies needed to run the site and understand basic, aggregated usage. Payment-related cookies may be set by Paddle during checkout.
